Ali

For people who don't know, I vlog and have a YouTube channel. I by no means claim to be good at it, but I've always enjoyed editing videos so a couple of years ago I decided to give it a shot.

Some may think, why vlog your holiday? I do it for myself, for the people I travel with and for my family and friends so they can see what I get up to. Having other people watch it is an added bonus. If I can make someone smile or give them some information they didn't know before, then I'm pretty happy. I also really enjoy watching other people vlog their holidays, I find they give a real honest opinion and you can learn so much from watching them.

So this post is to let you know that my first vlog from my latest Disney Cruise + Disney World holiday is now up and ready for all to enjoy! So if you feel like watching it, Day 1 is below. But before you do a disclaimer - I enjoy my holiday first and foremost, I just happen to be holding a camera in my hand, so my footage isn't always the greatest, I really try not to live through a camera.

So sit back, relax (maybe grab some food and a drink, it's 27 minutes long!) and enjoy Day 1, Travel Day of my latest Disney trip.

Want to watch more? Check out the playlist.

Below are my top 5 must do's when I visit EPCOT, this includes rides, attractions and entertainment. Note, due to my motion sickness there are a few rides here that I can't go on, plus there are still many things I haven't experienced in this park - just being honest. But without further ado here is my list.

#5
Journey Into Imagination with Figment

This is such a cute ride. I love the idea of it, the song and who couldn't love that adorable purple dragon Figment! It's a very slow paced ride, great for kids and yes the moon face at the end of the ride is a little creepy, but I still love it. It might not be everyone's pick to do, and it barely ever has a wait time but at least do it once if you've never done it before.

#4
Test Track

The fastest ride at Disney World, it doesn't seem it but this little car definitely picks up speed. This is a neat ride that let's you create your own car digitally and then it gets tested alongside everyone else in your car in 4 different categories and you get to see where your car ranks. Obviously the best part of this ride is the power testing where you shoot of outside and speed around the track. Everyone needs to do this ride at least once while at EPCOT, it's a lot of fun.

#3
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros

I have no idea why I love this ride so much, I just do. Once again it barely has a wait time, and it's great if you want to rest your feet. And if you're wondering, I don't think I've ever seen this ride before...well it's hidden inside the Mexico pavilion, yes inside the pyramid.

This ride just brings a smile to my face and makes me so happy, plus I love Donald Duck and watching him zoom around Mexico is funny and entertaining.

#2
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth

I always forget how great this fireworks show is until I see it again. It truly is a great fireworks display, and what makes it even better is you can stand anywhere in world showcase and pretty much get a great view. I also enjoy the music that accompanies the show. Don't miss it anddefinitely hang around and stay to watch them, trust me it's worth it.

#1
Spaceship Earth

This ride made my top 5 rides at Walt Disney World, so of course it had to make this list, and it's my favourite ride at EPCOT. I love how it takes you back to the past and it really makes you sit there and think 'wow, look how far as a planet we have come.'

I love the part in the ride when it's all dark and you're looking at the stars/planets. Not going to lie, it's also fun answering the questions and seeing what your future will be like. It's also really neat at the end, when you're off the ride, how your picture moves to where you live in the world. I love seeing it fly over to Australia and feeling like I contributed to the globe full of little dots.

Pretty much, just ride Spaceship Earth. You will not regret it.

You're welcome! My top 5 must do's at EPCOT. Let me know in the comments below what your must do's are when you visit this park. Also check out the video my sister and I made below.

A Court of Thorns and Roses Series

I finally finished this series - and wow, did this series end with a bang!

This series took you on a crazy adventure, but I loved every minute of it. If you love fantasy novels and you're yet to read this book, go buy it now. I went from loving one character, to then hating them and loving another, my emotions went all over the place.

If you don't know what this series is about well, it's about a young girl named Feyre, who pretty much does everything for her family. One day she is out hunting and she kills a wolf, but it wasn't just a wolf, it was a faerie. So of course she gets taken from her home by a high lord of the land where fae live. She then falls in love, finds out secrets and defends this land she barely knows.

I'm super bad at describing things but trust me, it's amazing. Also I'm so in love with Rhysand (Rhys) from this series ugh god, he is just amazing.

Time off Work

I finally had a week off work - and it was amazing! I hadn't had at least a week off from work since May 2016, so I was pretty damn excited about it.

My family from NSW came to visit and we didn't do much, just hung around the house and occasionally ventured off elsewhere. I forgot how good it felt to do nothing and have no alarm set for the next day. Safe to say it was a great week.

I enjoyed my week off so much that for two weeks after it I'd barely been on social media, edited no videos and didn't write any blog posts. It was a good reminder that sometimes it's good to step away from everything, take some mental health days and don't put any pressure on yourself.

Shadowhunters

I have a love/hate relationship for this show.

Let me start by saying I loved the books by Cassandra Clare. I remember when the movie came out and I was so excited, only to be left disappointed - let's be real, it wasn't a great movie. But, at least the movie actually sticks to the storyline, unlike the TV show.

Okay, I get it. Often TV shows are different from the books but they changed so much in this show to me it barely resembles the books that I love. But, I still watch it, and it came back in June. I think I keep hoping it will get better and scenes from the book will finally make it into the show and well because I damn love Clace...but it still disappoints. Every. Damn. Time.

I'll still watch it though, even though I need to be honest I'm not that impressed by it. Like I said, love/hate relationship.

Song of the Month

Touch by Little Mix

Little Mix are really killing it right now - they have so many good songs!

Here are my Top 5, plus an honourable mention because it's Magic Kingdom, must do's when I go to Magic Kingdom. This includes rides, attractions and entertainment.

Honourable Mention
Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theatre

Nothing complete's your visit to Disney than meeting the #1 mouse himself, Mickey Mouse! And even better, he talks! It's a great experience and I've always had a good amount of time with Mickey, he even cracks some good ole dad jokes. This is my favourite character experience and if you could only meet one character, make it talking Mickey in Town Square - you won't regret it.

#5
The Dapper Dans

The Dapper Dans are a barbershop quartet that have been performing in Disney parks since 1959 at Disneyland California. And since the opening of Magic Kingdom in 1971. It may seem un-Disney to some people, but these guys are amazing. Of course they have amazing voices, but they are funny and so entertaining. Seriously, please check them out if you never have. You can find them on Main Street throughout the day - check the entertainment guide.

#4
Splash Mountain

You can't go to Magic Kingdom without riding one of the 'mountain' rides. You have 3 - Space Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad Mountain and finally my favourite, Splash Mountain. If I could only ride one mountain, this is it. I've always been a massive fan of log flume rides and this one is my all time favourite. Plus, who can resist singing along to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah?

#3
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

As I've said previously, I can not put into words my love for this ride. It is the smoothest coaster I have ever been on and once again I'm a sucker for a good sing-a-long, and I seriously belt out Heigh-Ho during the mine scene. This has to be on your list, and YOU WILL need a fastpass. This ride gets massive queues, so either grab a fastpass or jump on during extra magic hours if you are staying on property. Tip - I think the back is better than the front.

#2
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

This ride is everything. It made my Top 5 rides in all of Walt Disney World, hell it was number 2. As I've said before - it's my go to ride when I don't know what to do, when I want to sit down, when I want to get out of the sun, when I want to relax, when I want to people watch and when I just damn well want to ride it.

No fast pass required for this ride, it barely has a queue, actually I've never waited in a queue for this ride - but that doesn't mean it doesn't get queues! Some people might find it weird that this in my list, but true Disney fans appreciate it's value and beauty.

#1
Night time Fireworks (Previously Wishes, now Happily Ever After)

If I only had one hour to spend in the parks, it will be when the fireworks are on at Magic Kingdom. I've only ever seen Wishes, though I can't wait to see Happily Ever After in Sept/Oct this year. But the fireworks just make me feel happy, sad, amazed and excited all within 20 or so minutes.

Disney know how to put on a show, and this is one you cannot miss. My absolute favourite part is singing along to all the Disney classics you know and love as the fireworks explode in the sky - oh and I love how Tinkerbell flies across the sky.

For this, the best place to stand is in front of Cinderella's Castle and down Main Street. You may need to get there an hour or so early to get a good spot, but it's worth it!

And there you go. My top 5 must do's at Magic Kingdom. Make sure to check out the video below, my sister joined in and listed her top 5 too - and yes, our lists were different. Drop a comment below and let me know your top 5 or at least your number 1.

Walt Disney World has about 50 rides (rough estimate) and these are my top 5 that I must do when I visit.

Honourable Mention
Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom

There is something about the Haunted Mansion and I just love it. It would have made my top 5 but then I remembered I didn't add a 'mountain' so instead it got pushed back to an Honourable Mention.

I love the queue, reading all the gravestones is so much fun and I think I may love the room you enter before the actual ride, better than the ride. Weird I know but Disney fans will get me. But I also love the ballroom scene, oh and the creepy bride at the end, she's pretty cool. I've never been to Magic Kingdom and not gone on this ride and I feel like if I didn't go on it I'd be very disappointed.

Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination, hmm?

#5
Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom

I would've felt weird not including a 'mountain' in this list and Splash Mountain is by far my favourite. I'm a big fan of water rides and how could you not love singing along to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah?

So although it's number 5, it's my number 1 mountain at Walt Disney World.

#4
Spaceship Earth at EPCOT

The only ride from EPCOT to make my list.

#3
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom

I'm not even sure I can put into words my love for this ride. I rode it 8 times on my last trip. I loved swinging the carriage (when the others were okay with it), love it's smoothness and LOVED belting out the song in the mine scene. I literally didn't care who was around me, I would just scream it from the top of my lungs.

Such a fun ride, and a great smooth coaster - if only it went for longer, oh and it didn't have massive wait times. Guys, get a fast pass for this one or ride it on repeat during extra magic hours like I did. ALSO tip, we loved the back better than the front.

#2
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

I know, not the most thrilling ride, but this is my favourite ride at Magic Kingdom. Don't know what you want to do? Ride the PeopleMover. Want to get out of the sun? Ride the PeopleMover. Want to sit down? Ride the PeopleMover. It's raining? Ride the PeopleMover.

Seriously, just ride the damn PeopleMover. It's relaxing and takes you through Space Mountain, hell you might be lucky enough like I was and go through when the ride broke and the lights turned on - best. moment. ever.

It also boasts great views of the castle and is great for people watching. There are usually no lines, and it's just a nice easy ride.

#1
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios

BEST. RIDE. EVER!

If they ever change this ride or get rid of it, I will cry...for days.

The theming is spot on, the staff get so into it and I love feeling terrified and yet laughing my head off at the same time.

Words cannot describe my love for this ride.

And there you go! My top 5 must do rides when I go to Walt Disney World.

Check out my video below, my sister joined in and listed her top 5. Also don't forget to let me know in the comments below what your top 5 would be or at least your #1.
