I love juice! So much that I spent $400 on a cold pressed juicer because a normal juicer just wasn't cutting it for me. So I thought I'd share my favourite juice recipe with you all, it's pretty simple and you can change it up to suit your taste.

You only need 4 ingredients, and a juicer (obviously...) You will need:
  • 2 x Thin Slices of Pineapple
  • 2 x Oranges
  • 2 x Carrots
  • Small Piece of Ginger

Now you need to peel the oranges so all the skin is off and cut them into quarters, this is just to help them fit through the juicer. Peel the carrots, cut it in half and then half again, so you're left with long skinny pieces of carrot. Cut two slices of pineapple, cut the skin off and cut around the middle, throwing the middle hard bit of the pineapple out. And if you buy a lot of ginger just cut a small piece off, too much ginger can be over powering - but like I said it depends on the person.

So hopefully your fruit and vegetables should sort of look like my photo above. I've found this makes the perfect amount for a tumbler, or a big glass.

Now, throw it through your juicer and watch your juicer work it's magic until you're left with a beautiful, yummy, orange coloured juice - it's amazing! I've also occasionally added apple too.

Hope you enjoy!!

So, it's that time of year again - time to start getting fit.

I've signed up to another bootcamp. Another you say? Yes, this is my 5th or 6th, who knows I've lost count. You're probably thinking do they even work? I know they do, I just don't stick meal plans or eat healthy - it's always my biggest downfall.

I really do enjoy bootcamp though. I enjoy being pushed, enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy the exercise. I don't enjoy weighing in every week, it truly is the most depressing part - especially since I know my eating habits are crap. I would love to be one of those people that just eat a salad and be really content, but I'd rather starve then eat a salad - you literally don't make friends with salad, or at least lettuce, yuck lettuce, and just lots of it is in salad and then it's just gross and boring and a whole lot of nope.

But, I will try harder this challenge. I need to. I pay all this money, stay on track for 4 - 6 weeks and then I just kill someone for chocolate and a decent meal, I can't do that this time. It's time to be more strict, not fall off track and enjoy eating healthy.

My goals for this 12 week challenge is:

  • Attend 4 sessions a week, they are only 45 minutes - 1 hour max, that's it.
  • Not go off track with my food. I will treat myself, because I know me, if I don't I'll lose it and give up. So every week I will get a 'cheat' meal to reward myself.
  • Meal prep, meal prep, meal prep!! I will spend my Sunday's and/or Monday's creating my lunches for the week - no going off track at work, which I find incredibly easy to do.
  • Lose weight. I will lose weight, believe it or not there have been challenges where I haven't lost weight but that will not happen this time! I will lose weight, it doesn't matter the number, I'll just lose something.
  • Begin to enjoy exercise. Instead of looking at exercise as a chore, I want it to be something I look forward too, something that will make me happy.
  • Never say I can't or take the easy option. Obviously without injuring myself or making myself violently ill I will work harder, not just take the easy option because I can or say I can't do it - because I know I can.
Fingers crossed I pull this off - I'll update you at the 6 week mark and let you know of my progress. Until next time.

Everyone has them right? At the start of every year, usually while in the shower (come on that's where most great thoughts happen) you make a list of things you want to do/achieve in the new year.

Well here is a short list of the things I want to achieve in 2017...

1. Eat Healthier
I swear every year I tell myself 'this is the year Ali, you're going to lose all that weight' and then my weight-loss goes up and down like a yoyo throughout the entire year. So this year I'm not focusing on losing weight, this year I want to change my eating habits and eat healthier.

How will I do this? Well I'm not 100% sure yet. But the first thing I'm going to do is say NO to all that crap take away food I eat just because it's convenient and cheap. Say goodbye to burgers and chips from greasy fast food outlets and start liking to cook more at home. I really want to get into the habit of meal prepping all my lunches for the week and writing a meal plan at the start of every week so I know exactly what I'll be eating.

Yes I will still go out to dinner, or places with friends but my main aim is to stay clear from that crap take away food. And may I add, if I'm on holidays I will be eating bad - I want to enjoy myself if I'm on holidays and not worry about what I'm eating.

The positive's from this is that I'll hopefully begin to feel better about myself, I'll be eating better for my body and hell I'll hopefully save some money.

2. Weekend Vlogging
Take a look at my YouTube channel and you will see I joined in 2006...that's 10 years ago! I always wanted to make YouTube videos but when I was younger I firstly didn't have much confidence in myself and secondly have you been to Australia? Our internet speeds are literally one of the worst in the world - so uploading a video was a god damn mission (didn't help that the area I lived in only had crap internet).

But now after a year or so of putting videos up, I want to vlog my weekends. Why weekends? Well for me to be a daily blogger I think I'd put you all to sleep. My Monday - Friday is the same week in and week out, nobody needs to see that. So I thought I'd share the most interesting part of my week, my weekend.

Not only in years to come do I want to look back on these videos and see exactly what I was doing and when but I also just really enjoy watching vlogs. They are my favourite 'type' of YouTube video to watch, so keep your eyes peeled for my first weekend vlog coming soon! I promise I can only get better.

3. Read Books
I love reading! I just don't get to do it enough. No joke, I can name over 50 books that I want to read but never got around to it. So in 2017 I want to read at least 10, which seems like an easier number but I know me and I know that will be struggle. But hey, maybe because I've put a number on it I'll hopefully end up reading more. Fingers crossed.

Let me know in the comments below what your new year's resolutions are, I'd love to know!
